Former Waitress Sues Las Vegas Nightclub in Federal Court

A popular nightclub empire is defending itself from the accusations made by a former cocktail waitress who claims she worked in a hostile work environment where the employees were expected to use cocaine and alcohol while tolerating sexual harassment and discrimination.

The Las Vegas nightclub chain, The Light Group, strongly denies the former employee's allegations. Light Group stated that it's saddened that their former employee may have battled drug and alcohol problems, but the workplace allegations are completely untrue and they will fully defend against the employment litigation.

The complaint is filed by a woman who is remaining anonymous at this time. She claims she began working for Light Group when she was 19-years-old, where management quickly introduced her to cocaine and booze to see if she would take to the party-hard lifestyle. After passing this alleged 'test', she said she was made part of a world where women were expected to dress and act provocatively to achieve better work shifts.

The plaintiff also alleged that she was encouraged to obtain breast implants if she wanted to advance her career. Her complaint specifically references instances where groups of rich Arab men frequented the club and treated the women as sexual objects, which was tolerated by management. If a woman refused their sexual requests, another waitress would be brought to their tables until a compliant server was found.

Any business facing accusations of breaking federal law should take the employment litigation seriously. Even baseless allegations can damage the reputation of a business and must be defended carefully.
