Woman killed on amusement park roller coaster

Amusement parks in Las Vegas are popular attractions for people looking for a day of fun. They are a great way to spend a summer day for a family because the rides offered can be enjoyed by people of a wide variety of age groups.

For some guests at the Six Flags over Texas amusement park, their day of fun turned into a nightmare recently after a 52-year-old woman was killed on one of the roller coasters. A witness at the park said that as the woman boarded the ride and tried to fasten her lap bar, it only clicked once. The other lap belts on the ride clicked three times. The woman told a ride attendant about it and wanted to make sure it was properly fastened.

The woman was thrown from the Texas Giant roller coaster at some point in the ride just after 6:30 in the evening. The medical examiner found that she had died from multiple traumatic injuries.

Authorities are investigating the accident, but it could take a while to compile interviews from the hundreds of witnesses and other information pertinent to the case. They may also look at the daily inspection logs that are kept for the ride. The coaster has been closed as insurance investigators for Six Flags re-inspect the ride.

It is still too early to tell if the accident was caused by a mechanical failure or negligence of an employee working at the ride. Whatever the case, the family of the woman killed in this accident may wish to retain a lawyer to file a premises liability civil litigation lawsuit against the amusement park.
