‘Real Housewives’ Vicki Gunvalson sued over vodka company

Vicki Gunvalson has recently been featured in the media and it has little to do with her part in the “Real Housewives of Orange County.” According to a commercial litigation suit filed in Las Vegas against Gunvalson and several others, the plaintiff is asking for damages resulting from unjust enrichment and breach of contract, among other claims.

The plaintiff alleges that Gunvalson and another named defendant conspired to fraudulently obtain money from him, and subsequently schemed to give Gunvalson a higher percentage of ownership in a vodka company. The plaintiff asserts that in the middle of 2012 he agreed to invest $300,000 to start a vodka company with Gunvalson. He was initially given 50 percent interest in the company, with the remaining 50 percent distributed to Gunvalson.

According to court documents, Gunvalson never intended to put work into creating a successful company. The plaintiff further claims that he was to obtain 66.7 percent of the company if he would pay out $50,000 to the man who was allegedly working with Gunvalson to defraud him.

According to the plaintiff, Gunvalson purportedly had given away 16.7 percent of her ownership in the company without his knowledge. The complaint alleges that after reaching an agreement to pay off the other defendant and increase the plaintiff’s percentage, Gunvalson supposedly insisted that the proprietorship promptly be returned to the way it previously was with Gunvalson owning 50 percent. After this and other alleged improper business transactions, he claims that Gunvalson placed the company under new ownership without proper authority.

In circumstances such as these, hiring a lawyer to help protect your interests in a company may be the best way to ensure a fair outcome.
