Las Vegas woman hospitalized after a pit bull attack

Pets bring an interesting and fun aspect to life. Many are loveable, friendly and loyal; however, it is that loyalty to their owner and their home that can cause great issues for some when a dog acts aggressively to defend their property. Every year, millions of people are bitten by dogs. In many instances, the homeowner will fervently assert that the animal is really very pleasant. Whether the accident is due to lack of training or is an isolated occurrence, in most cases Las Vegas pet owners are liable for damages that occur when their dog attacks, and they may have to face civil litigation lawsuits as a result.

One woman may consider filing a personal injury complaint after she was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious wounds to her leg and head that were reportedly caused by multiple dogs. Sources indicate that the woman was in the Northwest area of Las Vegas when she was allegedly attacked by two dogs, both pit bull breeds, as she neared a property. It is unclear whether or not the woman was visiting someone in the home where the dogs reside or if she was just walking past the premises.

The dogs were taken to Lied Animal Shelter where they must stay for ten days. Additionally, the owner of the pit bulls will face multiple citations. A neighbor indicated that the dogs’ owner is known for not properly caring for the dogs. As such, if things don’t change, others may be at risk when they come near these aggressive animals.

Dog bite injuries often lead to extensive scarring, disfigurement and pain and suffering. Discuss with a personal injury attorney how you may be able to get your medical bills paid for by seeking compensation for damages resulting from the attack.
