Las Vegas car crash leaves 1 critically injured, 2 killed

Las Vegas is a city that enjoys a reputation as a fun place to relax, unwind and have a good time. When people do not engage in the city’s activities responsibly, however, they can be held accountable for any injuries they cause. When negligent behavior results in a personal injury or a death, the victim or the victim’s family may decide to pursue legal action to obtain compensation.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a car crash involving a GMC pickup truck and a Toyota Corolla was caused by the truck crossing the median on Summerlin Parkway. The head-on collision killed two young Las Vegas residents who were in the Corolla; one was a 20-year-old female and the other was a 31-year-old male. Both died prior to the arrival of first responders. The pickup truck’s driver was also seriously injured, and is in critical condition at University Medical Center.

Authorities believe that the GMC driver had been drinking. The identities of the two people killed were released by the coroner’s office, but the name of the pickup driver is still being withheld by NHP authorities. The GMC driver was booked for driving under the influence.

When a fatal accident can be attributed to the negligent actions of a person or company, the families of the victims may choose to pursue civil litigation against the responsible parties. These family members may be able to receive compensation for their loss, which may help them to put the tragedy behind them and move on with their lives.
