Las Vegas woman among 6 killed in car crash

Like many people around the country, Las Vegas residents enjoy taking trips to celebrate holidays. However, sometimes people can take these festivities too far, leading to dangerous situations such as impaired driving. When serious car accidents result from these impairments, the victims of the crashes or their families may choose to file civil litigation against any negligent parties.

A 23-year-old woman from Las Vegas was killed in a fiery Utah car crash over the Fourth of July weekend. The woman had been in a sports car which was hit by a minivan. The sports car contained one other person—a male who also died as a result of the accident. The minivan held five people, four of which were killed in the crash; the fifth is in critical condition. The survivor’s current condition is not indicated in reports.

Details regarding the cause of the crash have not been provided, although the Utah Highway Patrol notes that the minivan was attempting to pass another vehicle when it collided with the sports car. Authorities believe that impairment may also have played a role in the incident and stated that the crash could have been easily avoided.

This accident contributed to one of the deadliest Fourth of Julys Utah has seen in 20 years.

When holiday celebrations lead to negligent actions, tragic accidents can result. Those who have suffered a personal injury stemming from such negligence may have the right to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and other related financial losses. If you were the victim of a car accident and would like to know more about your civil litigation options, you may find it beneficial to seek the advice of an attorney.
