Fatal Henderson worksite accident leaves family devastated

Many manufacturing facilities in Las Vegas require workers to engage in activities that are dangerous unless safety measures are in place. When employees are killed as a result of a worksite accident that could have been prevented by employers, the families of the deceased workers may have the right to pursue civil litigation.

One family has been left devastated in the wake of a Henderson worksite accident that resulted in the death of a 53-year-old man. The deceased is survived by his ex-wife, with whom he has two teenage daughters. He also leaves behind his second wife and a sister. The comments that his ex-wife, wife and sister provided to the media all emphasize that the man was well-loved and will be sorely missed by his family.

The deceased man worked for 20 years as an electrical and mechanical technician at Ocean Spray’s Henderson facility. He died after falling through a skylight on the building’s roof. His ex-wife has stated that, although she did not know the details of this incident, the man would often need to go on the roof to perform maintenance on the air conditioning system. It is unclear from reports whether that was the situation on the day the man died.

Reports do not indicate whether the man’s family will be pursuing civil litigation regarding premises liability or employer negligence.

Worksite accidents can result in serious injuries and deaths. When these occur due to inefficient safety protocols, negligent employers can be made to pay damages to their injured employees or their families. Those who wish to learn more about this possibility may want to speak with an attorney.
