16-year-old cited for causing car accident

There are many young people who come to Las Vegas to relax and enjoy the night life. This can certainly be fun in the appropriate environments, but when rambunctious behavior carries over into driving, serious accidents can result. When this occurs, the victims of these car accidents may choose to pursue civil litigation against those responsible for their injuries and property damage.

Idaho law enforcement authorities have cited a 16-year-old male after he caused a single-car rollover in Boise. The teenager triggered the accident by setting fire to the armpit hair of the driver, an 18-year-old male. The driver was cited by authorities for inattentive driving; according to deputies, he may have been speeding.

Five people were in the vehicle in total, all teenagers. None of them were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and two of them were thrown out of the vehicle. However, no one sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

It is unclear from reports how much damage was done to the vehicle as a result of the accident. Reports do not indicate whether any of the teenagers or their families will pursue civil litigation regarding the incident.

If you have been the victim of a car crash caused by someone else’s recklessness, you may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against that person. This can help you recoup some of your financial losses and gain closure on the event. If you would like to learn more about this option, it may be beneficial to speak with a lawyer about your situation.
