Eva Longoria: Sued and Then Sued Again

Actress Eva Longoria got a double dose of bad news this week in separate courtrooms.

A partner in her Las Vegas restaurant is suing the "Desperate Housewives" star for allegedly breaking California's usury law. Longoria is facing litigation from the same business partner for improperly filing for bankruptcy protection for the restaurant called Beso.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mali Nachum claims in a Clark County court that Beso LLC's bankruptcy petition is "fatally flawed."

The restaurant and the next-door Eve nightclub opened in December of 2009 with both Nachum, her husband Ronen Nachum, and Longoria, among others as investors.

The Nachums claim they were served with a trespass notice prohibiting them from entering the properties in which they're invested.

Mali Nachum says as a part of Beso LLC, she's entitled to be a part of the limited liability corporation's decision-making process. That process would include the decision to ban her from the premises and to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

She says the Beso bankruptcy was filed in order to avoid litigation. Last summer, she and her husband sued another investor, Longoria and Beso LLC for access to the company's financial records.

She claims it's improper for Beso and the other investors to use bankruptcy to deflect that litigation.

The Las Vegas bankruptcy court will consider the request to dismiss the bankruptcy in mid-February.

Nachum's latest legal volley was filed just a day after she sued the actress in California, claiming that a 2009 loan from Longoria of $1 million was made with an illegal interest rate of eight percent.
