Many people who choose to drink and drive in Las Vegas do so under the mistaken belief that they are only putting themselves at risk or that they aren’t impaired enough to affect their driving. Sadly, this just isn’t the case and this kind of thinking can put others on or near the roadway at risk.
This was the case for a Las Vegas stripper who caused the death of a 33-year-old man and injured his 2-year-old son in a car accident. The 26-year-old woman admitted that she had consumed two beers while working at a strip club and said that she drank the last one around three to four hours before the accident occurred. She also said that the night prior to the accident she took a Xanax pill that was not prescribed to her.
The accident happened in an intersection. Witnesses reported that the woman ran a red light and crashed into the other vehicle. The toddler who was riding in the car sustained a skull fracture that left half of his face swollen to the extent that he could not open his eye on that side.
The woman failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI resulting in death. She recently appeared in court for a preliminary hearing.
The family members of the man killed in this accident and the toddler who was injured may wish to speak with a personal injury attorney about their right to compensation for their loved one’s pain and suffering, medical bills and funeral bills, where applicable.
