Las Vegas authorities investigating serious car crash

Las Vegas has an international reputation as a fun, bustling city. This is beneficial to its residents in many ways, but one of the side effects of this is that car accidents are a common occurrence, even in the early hours of the day or very late in the evening. When these are caused by the negligent actions of a person or company, the injured party can choose to pursue civil litigation to receive appropriate compensation.

Law enforcement authorities in Las Vegas are investigating a car crash on Eastern Avenue that has left two people with serious injuries. The accident involved a Mazda and a Pontiac Grand Prix; the former was northbound and driven by a female, and the other was heading south and driven by a male. Each vehicle contained only the driver, and the parties were identified as Las Vegas residents, both 27 years of age. The two were taken to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

The accident occurred when the Mazda swerved into the south lane, resulting in a head-on collision. No details were provided regarding the Mazda driver’s condition prior to the accident, or what may have caused her to swerve into the oncoming lane of traffic.

Car accidents such as this often result in huge medical bills for the victims. Not only must they pay for hospital stays and regular physician checkups, but they may also have to undergo expensive rehabilitation treatment with a physical therapist. When such accidents result from unsafe road conditions, premises liability or other drivers’ negligence, victims may have the right to sue for compensation. Those who find themselves in such situations may want to speak with a lawyer about their options.
