Las Vegas is a city that attracts a number of tourists, many of them young people who are looking for an exciting vacation. Sometimes these people exhibit poor decision making skills, choosing to drive under the influence or at reckless speeds. When accidents result from this type of behavior, these drivers may face personal injury lawsuits.
Conrad Hilton, the 19-year-old brother of Parish Hilton, caused a car crash in Palm Springs that involved two other vehicles. According to the California Highway Patrol, Hilton struck a Volkswagen with his BMW as he attempted to change lanes, and then hit a tractor trailer after losing control of his vehicle. Authorities state that Hilton was speeding at the time, and that the California Highway Patrol had been notified about a reckless driver prior to the incident.
Reports do not indicate whether there were any passengers in the Volkswagen and tractor trailer or whether anyone in these vehicles was injured. Hilton was pulled from his BMW by firefighters and suffered substantial injuries, for which he was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. Details regarding his injuries were not offered.
Reports do not indicate whether the drivers or any other involved parties will be pursuing civil litigation against Hilton.
Reckless drivers can leave serious injuries and property damage in their wake. Those who have suffered a personal injury due to reckless speeding, alcohol impairment or other negligent driving behavior may wish to file a lawsuit against those responsible for their accidents. If you would like to learn more about this, you may find it beneficial to speak with an attorney.
